PHENET proudly and pro-actively supports the development of the Early Career Professional Network (ECPN), a unique initiative aiming at creating a vibrant global community for rising talents in plant phenomics.

The Vision

ECPN aims to empower early career professionals (ECPs) in plant phenomics worldwide by focusing on:

  • Continuity: The ECPN provides ongoing value to a global audience of ECPs, operating consistently beyond individual symposiums.
  • Regular Engagement: It holds consistent virtual or in-person meetings at least once a year to foster dialogue, resource exchange, networking, and collaboration.
  • Strategic Communication: It maintains open communication with key stakeholders, including major international networks and national infrastructures.
  • Advocacy & Feedback: It provides a platform for ECPs to voice their needs to employers, funders, mentors, and trainers.

What is an Early Career Professional?

ECPN aims to include junior employees in academia AND industry:

  • Early career researchers (PhD students, postdocs with less than 4 years after graduation)
  • Industry professionals in plant phenomics (with less than 4 years of experience)
  • Technicians working within research organizations
  • Anyone with a strong passion for networking and community building
