SoilMap: ISE Service for high-resolution mapping of forest soil properties

The SoilMap Service was developed in response to the climate emergency and the problem of biodiversity loss, which require i) holistic research combining a wide range of disciplines, including soil science, ii) Forest management solutions tailored to the hectare scale – two aspects that necessitate high-resolution soil maps.
SoilMap can be used for optimising the design of field experiments by taking soil variability into account (eliminating any soil gradients when setting up the experiment). It is also designed for improving knowledge of carbon sequestration in soils and, more generally, of the impacts of climate change and forest management on soils.
