3D Simulation Service of Fruit Trees

The 3D Simulation Service for Fruit Trees is an open-source tool within the OpenAlea platform that simulates the growth and development of Apple tree. It generates 3D apple tree architecture for studying light interception, designing fruit tree ideotypes, and producing annotated synthetic datasets for phenotyping and deep learning applications. Validated on apple trees, the service supports researchers and breeders by linking fruit tree architecture with biophysical and ecophysiological models. It is distributed as a cross-platform Python package and maintained by CIRAD and INRAE.
The simulation service is part of the OpenAlea platform (https://openalea.rtfd.io). Code source is hosted on https://github.com/openalea and will be released on a conda repository.
